Robin Hood (2010)

Family album pic for Cate and Russell?
OK, I ll not outline the plot here, look up IMDB. Did I learn any history watching this? Well a little, like the names of the various personages that passed in the 12th century England history. But don't read IMDB where you will see a long list of historical inaccuracies. One particularly bad one is King John's refusal to sign the Magna Carta. Historically he did sign it though later he tried to have it annulled. It seems that this was done to leave the audience with the initial portrayal of King John as a bad guy, which he probably was. That's a short cut in story telling. Never mind  I didn't expect much from this film but it was mostly watch-able except for a lot of the battle scenes which are just flying brick-bats on the screen. Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchet act like they know each other, as they probably do but there seemed no chemistry between them. In one scene they kiss and try to do it passionately. I wondered what that would be like for friends who see each other regularly at the various parties they attend socially back round the Sydney traps.
