Hitchcock (2012)

Coming to this movie I thought I would spend all my time adjusting to Hitchcock in the shape of Anthony Hopkins. Yes up to a point but after that you let the story take over and can begin to indulge in a bit of nostalgia. Seeing the workings of the old Hollywood studio was interesting and noting that things used to be so much simpler at the time without the need for one hundred percent realism. Shooting Psycho in black and white also helped keep costs down and the whole thing was released in less than five months from the start of production. This film also interestingly deals with the censorship issues at the time, Hitchcock had trouble showing a scene with a flushing toilet, lol.  Less interesting is the time spent on the tension between Hitch and his wife, but thankfully there is not too much of that. Helen Mirren as Hitch's wife did a great job as usual. Overall this is a lightweight movie about the heavyweight that Hitchcock was but entertaining nonetheless.
