Limitless (2011)

Morra the blood-sucker.
A fantasy about intellectual prowess! It's fitting that it had only a fleeting scene of implied sex - how dull!. Good wholesome entertainment for the whole family! The man has to take a drug, NZT (they didn't want to call it a drug (that's not wholesome) and no it has nothing to do with Kiwi land) . It made the brain work full capacity rather than the 10% people say we use now. They riddled the plot with improbabilities and implausibilities which I wont list here (but see IMDB)  to ram the fantasy home. But then again it is a fantasy and who checks the spelling when you're reading hot potboiler?! It is interesting that although it begins with the common theme of the writer's block, which the small innocent little NZT then unclogs it quickly changes to another common theme of money-making prowess. Phooey! What about writing a masterpiece of the century instead? But I suppose there are plenty of us blokies who dream of 'kicking ass', making zillions with minimum effort as if by natural magic, and swooning the girls with immaculate French at the restaurant (or is it Chinese these days?). Couldn't look at the scene where Morra licks blood off the floor to get the vital NZT he needs to escape dire circumstances.
Well directed and thoroughly entertaining,
