John W. at work said he'd like to watch Ben-Hur the 1925 so I got it for him this one and now I started to watch it too. I was surprised by its quality. The first thing that struck me was how easy it is to follow the story. The setting is so authentic looking too. I am up to the battle scene and that is breathtaking, no expense was spared by the looks. I will read about it's making after I finish watching/
At Toongabbie they (mostly my brother but Melissa too) talked about "The Centepede" One and Two at length and said how grotesque and yak it is and not to watch them,,,well I got curious allright so they're queued up...don;t know when I ll see them...
We also mentioned "The Artist", Sue said she really liked it. I said it looked great of course in b/w (as usual) and that the dog was great in it (who didn't?)
Alex sent me Hugo (thanks) which I put on right away when I got home. Watched half hour, the photography is very clever almost sepia and achieves that Parisienne look of the early 1900s. It looks good. But the story yet needs to prove itself...
